Valley of Flowers Himalayas adventure Trekking Expeditions
The trekking expedition commences from Joshimath, lying in the mountain slopes above on the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. You take a temple tour in Joshimath paying visits to Narsimhadeva temple, Vasudeva temple (both dedicated to Lord Vishnu), Rudraprayag (dedicated to Lord Shiva) Nav Durga temple, and Shankracharya Math. From Joshimath, we will trek to Govindghat, a conflux of Alaknanda and Bhyundar. You can visit the ancient Gurudwara, located right on the bank of river Alaknanda, named after Guru Govind Singh, and a temple dedicated to Lord Laxman. All essential stuff required for the trek is available in the local market. Mules and porters are available here for trekking to Ghangaria which is the base camp for visiting Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers.
Valley of Flowers from Govindghat we will move to Ghangaria also known as Govinddham. Relish the Punjabi delicacies served in restaurants or enjoy shopping, set a camp in camping grounds, or visit a big Gurudwara to accommodate all the pilgrims in Ghangaria. Resuming our trek we would go to Valley of Flowers National Park snuggled high in Western Himalayas. During your trek, you will witness meadows of indigenous alpine flowers and abode of many endangered species of animals and birds like Himalayan black bears, Himalayan mouse hare, musk deers, brown bears, Bharal, snow leopard, and blue sheep. We would proceed to Hemkund Sahib. Even here you can enjoy a temple tour to Laxman temple and of course, the Sikh Gurudwara.
You can feel the hospitality of villagers extended to you during your trek to the adjoining villages’ exploration tour. Sit down and relax having a cup of hot tea in your hands at small tea shops set along the roadsides. Camping and overnight stay is not permitted. Pony entry is restricted beyond Ghagaria for strict ecological discipline. Continuing your trek you will come across the river Pushpawati and see snow bridges.
